Dogs suffering from leishmaniasis and being treated with the medication allopurinol must be fed exclusively a low-purine diet.

The purine levels in our meals are calculated in a certified laboratory—this costs money, but it ensures safety. Some manufacturers calculate these values using a food table—it’s free, but inaccurate.

Our “Insekten Glück” is a hypoallergenic meal that is also ideal for sensitive dogs. Many dogs today suffer from so-called food intolerances. They react to common meats such as chicken, turkey, or beef—as well as grains, soy, or dairy products. But the commonly used binders, fillers, and flavor enhancers (especially in dry food) can also cause problems. The symptoms of food intolerance are varied—for example, stomach problems or gastrointestinal discomfort, frequent smacking of the lips, vomiting, nausea, gastritis, reddened skin, dermatitis, itching, anal itching, hair loss, digestive problems/diarrhea, weight loss, and issues with the ears and/or anal glands.

An elimination diet limited to a previously unknown protein source can be carried out excellently with our Insect Luck menu. But please always remember that absolutely nothing else—not even a single small treat—containing another animal protein source may be added to the diet. We have also deliberately avoided using potatoes and parsnips, as some dogs have become very sensitive to these ingredients as well.

Because it is packaged in artificial casing (without aluminum), a slight color change may naturally occur at the edges. When cut open, this area may therefore appear slightly darker than the center of the sausage.
This is completely harmless and has no effect on quality or taste.

Our 800g products are packaged in eco-friendly artificial casings. Compared to conventional cans, this results in significantly less packaging waste. While metal or composite cans require complex recycling processes and often end up in the trash, synthetic casings produce only a minimal amount of waste. This protects the environment and conserves valuable resources.

The "sausage" also has an advantage when it comes to shipping: It’s sturdy, space-saving, and doesn’t require elaborate protective packaging like glass or cans. This means the product can be shipped easily, safely, and with significantly less packaging material. That translates to less waste, less weight, and a smaller carbon footprint—for a sustainable and responsible diet for your dog!
