Algae Lime Powder – A Natural Source of Calcium from the Atlantic Coast

Our napani algae lime is derived from mineralized, sedimented deposits of red algae (Lithothamnium calcareum). As a plant that grows slowly in its natural environment on the seabed, it contains a variety of vitamins and minerals essential for the body (such as calcium, magnesium, and iron), as well as organically bound trace elements (such as selenium and copper) and health-promoting, bioactive phytochemicals. The algae’s intensely red color in water turns white when dried. Ground into a fine powder, the red algae serve as a high-quality source of calcium for dogs and cats and therefore also provide natural calcium to dogs that cannot tolerate bones (digestive issues) or are not fed bones. Algae lime, or rather its high calcium content, also balances out excess phosphorus caused by too much meat in the bowl (canned meat, a diet consisting solely of meat, raw feeding / BARF).
