Less animal protein in the food bowl has many advantages. Nowadays, an oversupply of animal protein is a much greater problem than a lack of it. The organism of a domestic dog is not adapted to an excess of protein, such as feeding exclusively muscle meat from beef. A prolonged excess of protein puts strain on the dog’s metabolism – especially in older dogs – and in particular on the kidneys. Signs of this can include itching, redness of the skin (paws), and hair loss (though these symptoms can also have other causes).

A dog needs a balanced supply of proteins, carbohydrates, fats, and fiber, plus various minerals and vitamins.

What’s inside – the advantages of the ingredients:

• Turkey: contains high-quality protein that the body can easily utilize. It is rich in vitamin B6 and niacin and contains additional B-vitamins such as B1, B2, and B12.
• Cooking broth: the water in which all ingredients were cooked. It is needed for every cooking process (for each menu) but is often not declared by other manufacturers.
• Pumpkin: provides many vitamins, including beta-carotene (a precursor of vitamin A) essential for vision, as well as vitamins C and E, and the minerals potassium, magnesium, calcium, and iron. It also contains filling fiber.
• Zucchini: a low-calorie vegetable containing minerals such as calcium, important for bones, and the trace element iron, necessary for blood formation.
• Coconut flakes: contain a high proportion of lauric acid, which has positive effects on the immune system and is said to have antibacterial and antiviral properties.
• Linseed cake: contains omega-3 – the "good" fatty acids. These support the cardiovascular system and strengthen the immune system. • Rose hips: are particularly rich in vitamin C, which is essential for bone formation. It also regulates the body’s calcium and phosphorus balance.
• Thyme: according to natural medicine, can neutralize bacteria and fungi and shows antioxidant effects.
