A question that dog owners ask themselves time and again: "Does a raised food bowl make sense?"
There are no scientifically substantiated answers to this yet—it’s only in cases of megaesophagus that it’s essential for dogs to eat from a raised position. From years of experience and our own observations, we know that dogs—when given the opportunity—lie down to eat (e.g., when chewing on bones, etc.). This seems to be in line with their natural behavior. However, this isn’t possible when the food is in a bowl. Even our Parson Terrier (standing only “39 cm” tall) always prefers the elevated bowl on the feeding station. Experience has also shown that dogs suffering from musculoskeletal problems prefer to eat from an elevated bowl.
Our feeding stations are handcrafted by a local carpenter. He uses locally sourced beech wood and finishes them with a food-safe hard wax oil. This means they contain absolutely no chemical or toxic components. The feeding station can be easily cleaned with a damp cloth.
