Harnessing the power of nature
Nowadays, humans and animals are exposed to many chemical products. SolNova's philosophy is to develop products that are as natural and gentle as possible, but which can compete with recognized effective traditional medicines. The goal was to develop an antiparasitic agent for pets that reflects this philosophy. SolNova believes that it has achieved this goal with Amigard Spot-on.
Repellent technology
Unlike pharmaceutical products that act as insecticides or acaricides, Amigard Spot-on does not kill the parasites, but simply keeps them away from their hosts. If parasites have already settled on the host, they are repelled within a short time because they find the taste and smell of the active ingredients in Amigard Spot-on extremely unpleasant. In most cases, the repellent effect is so strong that the parasites are prevented from biting the host. Repellents have a dual effect: in their gaseous state, they act on the parasite's olfactory sensors, and in direct contact with the treated skin of the host, they also have a repellent (repelling) effect via the sense of taste.
It is well known that insects have one of the most sensitive sensory systems in nature. Insects can detect odors in minute quantities over enormous distances. The development of these sensory abilities to perceive certain gaseous substances helps insects find food (i.e., locate host animals in the case of parasites) and, in some cases, mate. Repellents exploit the extremely high sensitivity of insects to certain substances. Antiparasitic drugs have a systemic effect. Insecticidal substances such as fipronil, methoprene, or selamectin are introduced into the bloodstream of dogs or cats in sufficiently high concentrations. During the protection period, the concentration level of the insecticide must be kept sufficiently high. If the parasite bites and sucks blood, it poisons itself and dies. Amigard Spot-on, on the other hand, acts purely externally and takes effect from the treated skin. Use biocides with caution. Always read the label and product information before use.
The galenic formula
SolNova's own newly developed galenic formula gives Amigard high tolerability and a long-lasting effect. The galenic formula uses a unique combination of neutral carriers with excellent spreading properties and high skin tolerability. The high and rapid spreading effect increases the effectiveness of the active ingredients, as they can take effect throughout the entire body within a relatively short time after application. Studies have shown a significant increase in the effectiveness of our patented carrier compared to conventional systems. The second important property is the product's ability to penetrate the outer layer of skin (stratum corneum), where it forms a reservoir that releases the substance over a longer period of time and ensures constant effectiveness through the slow release of the active ingredients.particular attention was also paid to ensuring that all ingredients are as well tolerated as possible. Only harmless substances were selected for the formula. The carrier substance is composed of a combination of natural fatty acid esters. The product contains d-panthenyl triacetate, the oil-soluble form of vitamin B, as a nourishing and skin-soothing additive. This is an important, nourishing additive for skin irritated by pre-existing parasite infestation. No other additives or preservatives have been used. The product does not contain any known allergens.
Water-repellent formula
The composition has been optimized to prevent the product from being washed off in rain or when bathing. The active ingredients, such as decanoic acid, but also the remaining components, are insoluble in water. Amigard is therefore extremely resistant to water.
